If any of you have been around Luke for any length of time, you know that he usually has a lot of things to say and I admit that I have not done a great job of recording them so that's part of what this blog is about.
A couple of weeks ago, we were reading the story of Moses and how he kept telling the pharaoh to let God's people go free. You all know the story. Anyway, we were talking about plagues and what it would be like if there were frogs all over our house, in our beds, in our food and everywhere. So, Luke looked around our house and said, "we have a plague of flamingos"!!! This was after Katie's 1st birthday party which was, of course, flamingo-themed! Then, just this morning as we were having breakfast before his soccer game, he told me that Santa's last name should be "Hands" since Santa doesn't have "claws". He amazes us.
As for Katie, she also communicates very well and let's us know what she wants, needs and doesn't like. She says "ma" and "ball" pretty clearly and pretty often but we know that she understands so much more. For example, we were all sitting in the living room and I asked her to pick up a block and bring it to me. She turned and walked to her room and brought me...a block! A while later, I asked her where her other sock went and she went and picked up a pair of Luke's socks and brought them to me. The other night, Andy was talking to her about dogs and asked what noise a dog makes. She went and picked up her Reveille pillow-pet and said "oof oof"! Gig 'em, Katie! (and BTHO Baylor!!! )
We are obviously watching the A&M/Baylor game as I am typing and the Ags just scored another touchdown. Luke just asked me if I need another kiss (he's my date today since Andy is working). I love, love, LOVE these precious children!!!
