Harsh reality

So this week we had to complete a rental application for a house to live in while we search for the location of the soon-to-be built new Hogg Heaven. Well, I was about to start filling out the form when I was told that I probably didn't need to because, as a stay-at-home mom, I don't have an income so I didn't need to do it. That really threw me for a loop!

I have worked in either a volunteer or paid position since I was 11 years old. Never in my life have I really considered myself a "dependent" but technically, yes I am and have been since Luke was born. I was a little bothered by all of this until I realized that the "pay" I receive as a SAHM is so far above and beyond any job I would want to have that it is really a GOOD thing that I don't have to pay taxes because that bill would be astronomical!!! So take that, federal government!!!!

By the way, I DID have to complete a rental application after all. It turns out that they want to make sure they aren't renting a house to a felon or anything. Ha ha!
