As we progress in the building process, there are decisions to be made. Lots of them. Some of them I care about. Some of them, I couldn't care less about. However, each one needs to be made. I am finding that it is easiest, and best to defer on the items that I couldn't care less about, but absolutely imperative to interject my opinion on the issues that I feel strongly about. For example, I don't have a preference over which shade of blue we use for the upstairs game room, but I have a clear vision of what kind of sink I want for the guest bathroom. I find the obsessing over carpet swatches to be a waste of my time, but don't even think about putting in a boring shower head in the master shower.
What is the most interesting to me is finding out what are the items that Marlina cares most about. This house is really her vision with a few of my loud mouthed assertions stuck in for good measure. It is really coming together and starting to look like our house.
We met with Teri on Saturday to make some cool decisions. I got to stand on the deck and point out where I want the gas grill to be located. We discussed how high we need to put the bathroom downstairs to be in compliance with FEMA. We decided to put ceiling fans everywhere.
Then we decided to go have lunch because there are only so many decisions that I can make in a day.
