A Picnic Lunch

As the house is progressing, Marlina and I find ourselves wanting to follow the progress daily, but letting the kids run around an active job site with power tools and mass quantities of nails can be a bit harrowing.  So over the past three weeks, we developed a great solution.  The workers are working 6 days a week now, weather permitting, so we have one day we can go check things out in relative peace and quiet.  The last three Sunday's after church, we load the family up and head to CLS, usually making a stop by McDonalds first.  Marlina and I then unpack and divy out the chicken McNuggets to the kids while we sip on wine and nibble on some cheese, all the time looking up at the new structure.  This last Sunday, we made mimosas and Mom and Dad joined us as they came to pick up Remington (who watched the kids the previous night).

The framers are starting to put the walls on the top floor and this past weekend we got to stand in what will be the kids game room.  It really felt like a room now that it has some walls to it.  You can even peek your head out the window and see the Kemah bridge.
Assuming the weather is good, I am expecting the framing to be finished in about two weeks and from there it ought to go really fast.

If you are in the area on a Sunday, give us a call and come by see for yourself.
