Everyone keeps asking me if I am happy about the construction of the new house, or if I am happy with the way construction is going. How do you answer that without sounding like a either a pessimist or an optimist? The truth is I am both pleased and dissatisfied. I am both happy and distraught. Things are moving forward and this is the main thing. Now that the walls of the bottom floor are finished, framing can begin and the rest of the house can begin to take shape. It is a unique feeling standing in your garage without a roof, looking up and saying "my bedroom will be right about here. And over there, that is where we will be watching the fireworks from. And right above me now is where Kate will sleep in her new big girl bed." Truth be told, I am happy with the way things are shaping up, but as Robert Frost wrote, "We have miles to go before we sleep. We have miles to go before we sleep."
